1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an online service. Similar technologies may include local and session storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, device identifiers and server logs.
These technologies can remember information about your visit, support security, keep services working, measure performance and help us understand how marketplace features are used.
2. How ex.gold uses cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate ex.gold, secure the service, remember preferences, support account or seller access where available, measure performance and improve marketplace experiences.
At initial launch, ex.gold is primarily a public marketplace experience and does not offer customer signup or registration. We may still use necessary cookies and limited analytics technologies to operate and improve the site.
Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential analytics, marketing or similar cookies. We do not currently use behavioural advertising cookies on ex.gold.
3. Types of cookies we use
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required to provide core site functions, security, routing, load balancing, fraud prevention and basic service operation. |
| Preference | Used where needed to remember choices such as region, currency, consent settings or display preferences. |
| Analytics | Help us understand traffic, page performance, marketplace discovery, listing engagement and feature usage. |
| Marketing | We do not currently use behavioural advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and request consent where required. |
Listing view counts are one example. When you open a listing we record an anonymous view, so the seller can see how much interest their items are attracting. It sets no cookie and identifies nobody. The only thing kept on your device is a short-lived session storage entry that stops one visit being counted twice, and it is discarded when you close the tab.
4. Third-party cookies and providers
Some cookies and similar technologies may be set by third-party providers that help us operate ex.gold. These may include hosting, authentication, analytics, maps, communication, rate data, seller inventory tooling, payment or support providers.
Third-party providers may process information according to their own privacy and cookie policies. The exact providers and cookies may depend on your region, browser, consent choices, login state and features you use.
5. Managing cookies
Where we use non-essential cookies that require consent, you can accept, reject or change your choices using the cookie controls we provide.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block, delete or restrict cookies. If you block all cookies, some parts of ex.gold may not work correctly.
Changing browser settings does not always remove cookies that have already been set. You may need to delete existing cookies from your browser or device.
6. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our use of cookies, providers, features or legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
